Description
We believe making premium quality chaff starts in the paddock. We produce our chaff from hay we primarily grow ourselves in the Barossa and lower mid-north region of South Australia. This region boasts ideal hay growing conditions with rich red-brown soils and good average rainfall. Growing our own hay allows us to carefully manage and control the quality of our chaff.
We treat the hay with steam immediately before cutting to soften the stems and leaves to achieve less shattering and splintering. The resulting product is less dusty, uniform in length and highly palatable to horses and ponies. High temperature steam also helps destroy any possible toxins or bacteria that me be naturally present in the hay, which reduces respiratory problems and helps to maintain horse well being. Horses and ponies love the fresh smell our steam cut chaff!
Our chaff is also triple sieved and dust extracted to ensure your getting products that are: excellent value for money, contaminant free and safe for animal consumption.
